I know it is early beta but the priest tree was not included in a recent blue disclaimer for several other classes. Despite this, I can only hope that the tree is indeed an early beta as the shadow tree presents no real choice in talents. You have PVE talents and you have PVP talents and sadly all of them seem mandatory. I played around with a few builds but each one sees us "forced" into taking Imp Mind Blast to progress to the next level at which point all talents that are not obviously PVP flagged (Imp Psychic Scream, Silence and Psychic Horror) are taken. Our sub tree will still be Disc but right now the talents are not designed for us to spec into. We only have enough points to get 2/3 Imp Inner Fire and have a choice between improving our shields (survivability) or reducing the mana cost of our instant spells. The mana cost reduction is the obvious PVE talent to go for if Blizzard deliver on their promise of mana being a valuable resource but the spell at the moment is lackluster. The only instant cast spells we have are SW:Pain which in theory we should only cast once, and Devouring Plague which now will last the full 24 seconds as haste is promised not to effect the duration of the DoT (it will effect the number of ticks internally). The only way this talent will shine through is if SW:Death makes a comeback into our rotation as an execute mechanic.

Also our Imp Shadowform still reads crit despite a blue mentioning haste a while back. Hopefully the change from crit --> haste comes around as haste is by far the most desired and valuable stat. I still wouldn't complain if we brought crit to the table but if given a choice of crit Vs haste in terms of buffing haste is going to win out any day of the week.
P.S. Apologies for the big gap in posts I was traveling for work and my own holidays for most of June into early July :)
Goodbye, dear readers!
